Webinars are a fantastic way to market your practice. We see them all the time for marketing, coaching, even health and fitness. (They have been my own best source of connecting with potential clients.) But we don’t see them often from psychotherapists for the purpose of marketing private practice.
That’s why when I met Tanisha Sapp, I just had to interview her for this podcast. She is not one to let fear stand in her way, and once she got the idea to experiment with webinars, she put it into action.
Tanisha Sapp is the Founder of A New Level Empowerment and Consultation, LLC in McDonough, GA. She has over 11 years of experience. Mrs. Sapp is an author, speaker, and therapist who specializes in trauma focused counseling and sex therapy with a focus on sexual trauma, sexual dysfunction, and sexual addictions. She is a devoted wife and mother.
In this podcast episode, Tanisha shares some powerful marketing, professional development, and personal development strategies that you’re going to LOVE.
- How to find clients that bring you joy (and eliminate those that drain you.)
- How she’s branding herself as the “marriage saver.”
- Why she’s heavily invested in social media even though she hasn’t “gotten any clients from it”. (P.S. – She’s doing exactly the right thing here.)
- Her #1 top tip for getting out of your own way so you can create success for yourself
- The one thing she truly regrets about practice, and how you can learn from her mistake.
If you are exploring the idea of using webinars for your own practice, you can check out what Tanisha’s up to here.
Webinars are a fantastic marketing strategy for psychotherapists because they allow clients to get to know you and your work in a non-threatening, easily accessible way. They also help position you as the expert in your field, which is where you can really distinguish yourself and your practice.
The other wonderful advantage of using webinars is that they allow you to move beyond one specific geographic location and serve clients that you wouldn’t otherwise be able to reach.
I’ve used webinars quite successfully in my own business and have created a 7-Step Sequence to guide you through all the steps of a successful webinar. You can download a free copy of it here:
Webinars are divided into 3 phases, sort of a like flight.
- There’s the pre-flight phase, everything you have to do to make sure the plane gets off the ground safely.
- There’s the mid-flight phase, everything you have to do to make sure the plane stays in the air.
- And finally, the landing phase, making sure that you arrive at your destination smoothly.
Just as with flights, the “pre-flight” phase of a webinar is the easiest. It’s preparing everything properly to ensure you reach your goals, that is the most important part. No matter how experienced pilots are, they still follow a specific pre-flight sequence to ensure safety. Think of my 7-Step Sequence as your pre-flight guide. You can make sure you’ve got all the steps in place to ensure success. Grab your copy here, and be sure to remain seated while the captain has the seatbelt sign illuminated!
